According to a recent news article on NBCNews.com, the German carmaker BMW recently announced that it is recalling 176,000 vehicles from the model years 2012 to 2014. The BMW recall affects 76,200 vehicles that were sold in the United States.

According to BMW, oil supply can be interrupted and mean the loss of power braking assistance. Although the brakes would still work the driver would have to press significantly harder on the brake pedal.

Owners of affected vehicles will be notified via mail. BMW recommends that if power is lost a driver should pull to the side of the road and call for roadside assistance.

Audi issued a recall for the 2012 model of its A6 automobile. The recall information on Safercar.gov reveals that the stitching of the airbags on its 2012 A6 was faulty who could result in failure of the airbag to deploy in the event of an accident.

Even extremely high end cars such as Maserati may be forced to issue recalls. According to an article on Caradvice.com Maserati is recalling approximately 110 million worth of luxury automobiles due to an issue that may affect the handling and steering of the vehicle.

The National Highway Traffic Administration issued a recall of over 7,400 Maserati cars for a similar problem earlier this summer.

A recent recall of 2013 Cadillac’s for exterior brake light problems is another example of high-end car’s vulnerability to defects. The Cadillac automobiles are being recalled because the brake lights flash intermittently without the brakes being applied and because the cruise control automatically disengages.
